Hardware problem?

My friend was installing Windows 7, and then couple of days later the computer started to restart every 4 hours, and now she does it every 1,5 hours or less.

She always shows blue screen and then restart.

Any ideas?

Could it be a corrupt install?

It might be a bad RAM stick, or it could be that a component is getting too hot, like the CPU. Is this a laptop or desktop? Are you able to see what the temps are? You might try running Speedfan or Hardware Monitor to see the temps, and to make sure that the fans are all running.

If it's a laptop, the air vents might be clogged with dirt, fuzz, cat hair...

I will borrow his computer and check the temp, will comment back when I've done that.

Alright, this problem seem's to be fixed after fresh install (some dude installed w7 demo on it) It's a Acer 5920 btw. The battery shows red x and recommends change battery, but it is in charge. Is it a driver I need or sum?

You may try a BIOS update for the battery issue. You may also try updating your battery drivers in Device Manager.

Also, are you sure the battery is okay? Could it be true that it is failing?
