Harrassed by Windows 10

I'm quite happy with Win 7, but my computer keeps insisting that I upgrade to Win 10. It started with intermittent pop-ups, that popped up at the most inconvenient times, which I rejected. Now, this morning I left the room for a few minutes and came back only to find it had taken it into its own hands to update automatically by closing down to update (I was in the middle of some important work at the time! :devil! This is akin to a beggar following me down the street continually pleading me for money, then when my back is turned putting his hand in my pocket! Even now it's demanding that I update and to assign a date for it, as if I don't have a choice! :devil::devil::devil: How many more times do I have to tell them that I don't want it, and how can I stop this harassment from Microsoft to update to something I don't want?

If it's the popup that I think I read about, there is a teeny tiny option button or click that would allow to you to tell it "forget it!" And, once you stop the process from continuing, I recommend Gibson's Never10 or SaferNetworking[?] Spybot AntiBeacon as shields against Windows 10 encroachment.

It's now telling me to schedule an upgrade. How do I stop this?

Download GWX Control Panel and click the relevant buttons to stop Windows 10 in its tracks.

Since the free upgrade offer ends in 1 week, after that date MS should probably stop harassing you anyway. My guess is MS will then start hassling folk to buy Win10. We'll see.
