Geesh. It goes to show how desperate people want to get off Vista....they are reviewing a BETA. I bet that was MS's plan all along *does his best Monte Burns finger steeple* Exccccellent!

MWAhAHAHAHA!

The article is annoying as heck in that it says that its a rip-off of the dock on OSX...umm no it isn't. If anything its going back to 3.11....kinda if you squint at it and cover your right eye.
The touch is a rip off of the iPhone...yah because no other device on the market had touch prior to the iPhone...oh wait. Yes they did. And Apple did NOT pioneer multi-touch.
And desktop wallpaper auto changing...ummm I can't remember when Linux got this...I think from day one.
Seriously. Enough with the MS ripping off Apple. No one complained when Apple introduced fast user switching in Tiger. :(

lol, yeah. It's boring. Very boring. Every OS has 'borrowed' ideas from others dating back to pre-windows era. Hell, Windows was 'inspired' by Visi On back in 1983.... So MS 'borrowing' ideas is nothing new. As long as the new features implemented work as well, if not better, then who cares where it came from?

Well, even if they made a Windows version identical to some other OS, they still have all the market on their feet, so they'd prevail...
So let's just enjoy new features, borrowed or not, cause it's in our final benefit ;)

:D It's almost ALL Microsoft has done with every 'new' OS they've released! With the exception of Windows ME, (This generation's Vista, btw... sell a hugely advertised and anticipated new OS and have a new one right behind it guaranteed to sell because the previous one sucked so much!).

MS has 'stolen' everything they could get away with not having to buy.:geek:

I honestly don't care where MS's "ideas" come from. If their implementation of Apple's ideas, or whoever elses, makes things work better in Windows then, at the end of the day, it's better for me, right? I'm not a MS fan-boy, really, but Win 7 is pretty freakin' sweet. I didn't like Vista at all, skipped it, stayed with XP Pro. But after a few days with 7000 back in Jan I realized that my XP days were done. And that's just a-ok with me. Someone brought up Win ME earlier. I can't believe I bought that turd of an OS! I still have the cheesy plastic watch that came with it. It's still sealed up even. Maybe in 50 years it will be worth $5 on eBay.

I like Jello
For the guy or gal that says that some OS takes from another.....
I would want to ask that person if they are an original.
None of us are, you know, unless we were created from scratch in some mad scientists laboratory.
We're an amalgam of every person in our linage that has gone before us.
It's amazing that none of us have just one big eye in the middle of our belly, or three arms and six legs.

There is almost nothing in our world that is not an outgrowth of something else. So quitcherbellakin about Windows 7 being like something that went before. That's just the way this world works.

As for Windows 7, build 7127, I sort of like it.;)
But like every version of windows, all the way back to the beginning, it does need some tweaking.

As a tech, I don't mind that. By shaking out the defaults in Windows that tend to make it safer, but also slow it down, you can wind up with an OS that performs much better than it did right out of the box.

I found XP right out of the box, running at about 30% efficiency. That's pretty sad. Then when a company like Dell, put out an XP PC with only 512 megs of ram installed, that made it even worse.

Cheers Mates! (Happy Computing)
The Doctor
