WinTV for Windows 7

ABANDONED -- Following in the infamous footsteps of Creative Labs, Hauppauge Computer Works is officially abandoning the greatest portion of it's installed base with regard to Windows 7 support. Hauppauge will not seek Windows 7 WHQL certification for it's WinTV-PVR products stating

"* WinTV-PVR is not certified for use with Windows 7, though it will work in many systems with Windows 7 32-bit version.
* WinTV-PVR products will not work in PC systems with 4GB or more of memory."

So as long as you run 32-bit and don't have >4GB RAM it *might* work but they're not going to lift a finger to help you either way.

I was told Hauppauge TV products were the bomb and was going to get one. Considering I have 4Gb and Win7 64-bit now, I guess I'll look elsewhere...

I have a Hauppauge Win TV Nova TD500 dual tuner card in my 64 bit Windows7 setup and it works flawlessly, latest Hauppauge drivers work a treat!

However Hauppauges PVR software is crap on any OS (nothing to do with the driver side of things!) and you're far better off using Windows Media Centre as your TV viewer and PVR suite...

My WinTV-HVR-2250 works fine with Win 7 64 and 6 GB RAM.
I use Windows Media Center, not Wintv.

I use a Hauppauge WinTV Nova stick DVB-T tuner, and the latest drivers work fine on 64-bit for me. I also use Media Centre to watch TV.

Don't be put off from buying one. Looking at the link provided, it's only a couple of the PCI card tuners that this seems to affect. Like I said, my Nova USB stick works fine, and my friend has the duel tuner version on Windows 7 and that, as well, works flawlessly.

i know it sucks to have to buy new hardware for a new os, but you can get an hvr-1250 pcie x1 card for at or less than $50--maybe less if you can catch a good sale or mir.

i have this card on my computer and a usb hvr-850 for my other computer. both sets run x64 with 8gb ram each--no problems with hardware or the hauppauge wintv software--but i use media center the majority of the time.

my hvr-4000 works flawlessly with vista 64 w/ 4gb ram.
However, no drivers or anything I can find can make it work with win7.

No too fussed about it anymore... bought an actual TV instead.
(Havnt had an actual tv in.... must be 10 years now?)

I am running dual HVR 2250's in Windows 7 x64 and they work great.
I only use Windows Media center.
