Have Mobile Hot Spot via Phone Need Router For Job Site & Devices

Hi all,

So I have a tablet I am using while on a work site. My phone (android) has included 4g hotspot and I use it for my tablet and hotspot all around a job site. But now I am working a bit further away from the phone and my connection keeps dropping. So I thought no problem I got a wifi router/repeater. Specifically picked up an asus RT-N12 and put it into repeater mode.

Needless to say the speed is horrible when I do a speedtest from any of my devices right next to the phone and devices mind you.

So I was wondering what could be the issue? What do people recommend? I don't want to spend a ton of cash and thought this little router would work. But doesn't like its the case.

You could get a Verizon (or AT&T or whoever) mobile hotspot. Here is what Verizon sells:

I used to have a Verizon Jet Pack 4G LTE. It was almost as fast as my home internet.
