have win 7pro license how do i get media

If you have a readable Product Key on the purchased PC's COA sticker then that can be used to Clean Reinstall Windows 7 as it details in the blue link tutorial, and which has been used by over 1.2 million consumers without a single complaint or failure to activate.

You do not need to use the Upgrade version Product Key provided by your friend if there is already a license with the PC's you bought. There seems to be something wrong with the Upgrade Product Key anyway, or else it should work.

But is the friend's Upgrade copy for the same version that is on the COA sticker Product Keys that came with the PC's? If not, then extract the ISO, unlock all versions, and burn to DVD or write to flash stick as detailed in Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7 . Then select the licensed version during install, make sure you input the Product Key correctly, and it will always activate.

Finally, I don't know why MS is telling you they don't sell Win7 any longer since you already own two licenses and were given a third. You are entitled to reinstall those copies of Win7 for as long as the keys are readable and I have never seen it fail if the correct version and Product Key are used.

thanks for all of that, my friends copy is for win7 home premium and my licence is for win 7 pro , so that might be part of the problem.

How do i extract the iso? and unlock all versions?

As I stated it is also explained in Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7 which was linked for you two days ago. Did you read it? It results in a perfect install which will stay that way as long as you stick with the tools and methods given in the tutorial.

thanks again
i thought i had worked my way through the clean reinstall tutorial. I may have missed something, so i'll look again
I went through the process of making a new iso from the win 7 upgrade disk i have and changed the ei.cfg etc made a new disk and got through the installation and was given the choice of software win 7 pro etc. However the computer still refuses to complete the installation. its not a problem with the activation as it does not get that far.
I worked my way through the windows 7 installation failure and reformatted the disk etc, however still no go
not sure whats wrong
i will go back over the tutorials you have send and the win 7 troubleshooting.
its interesting that win 10tp works fine (while it was there)
however there is something that goes wrong with the win 7 pro startup which even often stops the computer going through its boot up Ie the dell window so its obviously not liking something
frustation

It specifically says in Troubleshoot Windows 7 Installation Failures to report back the exact step where it fails and the failure behavior and/or error message.

the exact spot where it fails is the restart window just at/after the windows logo. no error message
for the hard disk check i'll look into finding the software etc. a full chkdsk has been done a couple of times and i also ran a memory check (but not for seven cycles) both of which suggested that everything is ok

Try entering Device Manager during install to disable any Devices showing in error with a ! mark to see if install will complete: Device Manager - Access During Windows 7 Installation

Try also removing the disk during the reboot.

Does this exact problem happen on both PC's? If so it would point toward the installation disk.

Do you have access to any other Windows 7 disks or ISO files?

Try extracting the ISO file again, then before unlocking with ei.cfg tool compare the HASH with the official Win7 Home Premium w/SP1 HASH from Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7. These should match to know the ISO is good.

Try a flash stick install to compare using Windows 7 USB-DVD Download Tool

I recently tried a Repair Install which hung mid-attempt; I was using a USB stick. On a whim I tried instead a DVD and that worked where the USB stick did not.

In any case if you made a DVD disc that is not working, try making another--any sort of glitch and the process won't work...

so this message is fro a working ? copy of win 7 pro on the dell pc. took some doing though.
I finally got it to install after repairing the installation a number of times. unfortenately it installed without a network card and what ever i did it would not install or detect the netwok card the network card. In desperation i removed the battery to see if it would result in retecting hardware.
This then caused its own probles with the installation. However I seem to fluke a way around these programs with a number of repairs. when it finally installed properly it detcted the netwok card and hooked up to the internet. so ihave spent quite a while updateing files etc.
the activation process with the key on the computer went smoothly. However not sure if it will be accepted at the ms end. This will be done automaticaly. On the laptop i have left the win 10 installation which is interesting and i won't update? this ( to win 7 pro) until i take your advice and make new installation disks maybe usb etc.
Overall its been a long often frustrating process but i could not have done it without all of your help
so thanks very much, and i'll keep you informed on progress ?
love
leon
