Having a nightmare with internet connection

Hi all,
I have a HP Pavillion Desktop with a micronet wireless adaptor.
My router is a Linksys wag160n ((rev1) annex a), with the latest drivers.
I am running W7 build 7100 and using the Kapernskey W7 beta firewall/av
My wireless network at home uses WEP authentication.

I have tried everything to get the W7 pc to connect to my router!!
All other wireless laptops (XP) work perfectly, PS3 and Wii, connect no issues.

The W7 PC will connect to a neighbors unprotected network with no issues and connects fine to my router via a wired connection.

If I check the list of MAC addresses in my router the W7 pc is visable (and allowed, I don't have MAC filtering switched on).
The PC is telling me Ipv4 is connected but IPv6 no network connection.
I tried switching my wireless security off, still no connection.
I have run the troubleshooter (nice to see that hasn't improved), no luck.
I have deleted all networks in W7 and started from scratch both with a manual config and letting windows detect the network settings which it does, but no luck.
Pinging the router is inconclusive, I have had 100% failure, 75% and 25% all as general failure.
I am at a loss, the only thing I can think of is that my router is not compatible with windows 7!!
I have spent some time trawling the other similar threads and can't find an answer.
Anyone have any other ideas??

Well besides the obvious uid/password I have a thought. If you lappy connects to a neighbors unsecure network then its not the lappy networking. It may be the neighbors router is a stronger signal for the laptop to see and may be conflicted. I would try with the laptop sitting right next ro the router and the wep encrpytion turned off to connect.

Ok, so I set the tower up next to the wireless router "Excellent" signal strength an no internet problems at all.
Move the desktop pc back into the room where I want it and limited/no connectivity, but connected to the network!! with a "Good" signal strength. (This is the same strength as my neighbors network), so I'm now thinking it's a conflict with the networks. (Cheers Zigzag).
Have tried changing the broadcast channels on the router but no results.
The PC was built from spares and an old G rated wireless card, so I am going to go get a "N" rated card and see if that helps.(The router is N rated)

That fixed it, if anyone else if having similar problems.
