I recently bought a nice new Turtle Beach Z6A Headset for my MSi GT780DX notebook and after plugging it in, the mic isn't working. I looked up the thread over at http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/2197-realtek-hd-changing-jack-output-reassignments-fix.html to reassign a port that apparently was repeated and set it to Mic. However, whenever I try to enable this "mic-in" device that shows up in my audio properties, it says Not plugged in. My computer has an internal mic that I turned off.

Any idea how to fix this? I'm using Realtek Audio HD Manager (latest version).

Well I did make some headway, apparently the computer shares the mic port and when I set it to Stereo, it gives me the option to turn on that jack that said as "not plugged."

However, when I set it to 5.1, it turns off that port's mic function and sets it to Center/Sub.
