System specs? What sound do you have? e.g. RealTek, SigmaTel, SoundBlaster? What speaker system do you have?

We can't really help you without some specifics.

Coming from XP to Win 7, there are some hardware that may not be compatible. e.g. the old SoundMax (ADI) integrated audio does not have Vista/Win 7 drivers and the XP drivers are not compatible or not 100% compatible.

When you reinstalled, did you install the Intel motherboard chipset drivers? That is an often overlooked item and without it several devices including sound will not work or not work correctly.

nope, not really...can i install it now, i mean will it fix the sound problem or should i install everything all over again?

UPDATE : Nope, it doesn't work, most of the sounds still come from the subwoofer only and same thing with the equalizer from media player.

PS - i need to mention that 2 days ago the sound worked normal when i installed the original audio deck driver from the cd but i couldn't enable bass boost or mark any other box
