HD contents

Hi all, is there any way to print out the contents of an external harddrive, what i am trying to do is printout the names of all the folders that i have on the ext HD, not the contents of each folder just the folder name, can this be done and if so how? have done some searching but nothing i find can point me in the direction i want or need and i dont want to type everything out if it can be done an easier way.

You can try something like this:



Replace F with your external drive letter.

Jonathan, I am forgetting my DOS; but can't you redirect that output to a text file and print the text file. I used to do that; but I don't remember the piping command.

its ok guys just had a word with a m8 whos a wiz on all things pc and dos, he told me to try this command and it worked for me,

open notepad and cut/paste save as a .bat dir /a /-p /o:gen >filelisting.txt

saves my fingers from having to type in over 600 albums.

Tree is a DOS command that you use in the Command Prompt. There is a whole world of commands that you can use in the Command Prompt.
