Hi all, great forum, hope you can help with this, I have searched to no avail...

Computer management reports 298 Gb, but it shows up as 137 Gb in an explorer window. Not a CS major here, but I'm thinking the BIOS is off the hook based on these screen captures. For what its worth, I am pretty sure the partition and all that was done right, the drive seems to work right, but I admit this is bugging the snot out of me. Was never an issue in XP, but win7 seems to be a different animal.

The use of this HDD is simply a bucket for pictures, I have 29k photo's, and feel good when they are stored on at least three drives. The sharp readers of this thread, will already notice from the screen caps that I'm on edge.

Anyone? Thanks in advance!!

hey all, thanks for the reply... i did the shadow copy stuff, only things found were on the C drive, 8 or so copies there, with 1% usage for that so i dont think its a causing this... also, there are two physical drives here, both formatted fully with a single partition when i put them online, each had a primary only (not including the whole win7 system reserved etc...)

the 320Gb for sure was a lone partition which worked fine when i was on XP.. in case anyone is wondering, this hdd was pulled from the box before i went to win7, so it wasn't present during any of the switch... i since installed it because my promise raid stuff is now evil, so i needed an extra volume to store pictures on

here is a snip of the properties, hope this helps... thanks!!

It may be the drive's ID chip is malfunctioning. Download SeaTools and run it on the P: and see what it says.
