For a few days now, when I close Firefox, the HD light comes on and runs for several minutes. This has not happened before. I went to Task Manager Processes and it one of the svchost.exe that was running. I clicked on that to see whet Services were highlighted. Here a list, if relevant:

AudioEndpointBuilder - Windows Audio Endpoint Builder

CscService - Offline Files

Netman - Network Connection

PcaSvc - Program Compatibility Assessment Service

SysMain - Superfetch

TrkWks - Distributed Link Tracking Client

UxSms - Desktop Window Manager Session Manager

Is there anything of concern here?

Just an opinion, "SysMain - Superfetch" -- I turned my W7 SuperFetch off, however, that may or may not help in this case.

do not need to auto-load and run in the background.
Go into the "Services" list (services.msc) and then change their startup type to Manual.
