HDD error message

Have installed the new free Acronis Disk Monitor and it keeps popping up with this error message. Risk: Low Type: Error Source: volsnap Category: 0 ID: 36 Date: 2010/6/21 Time: 20:47:34 Description: The shadow copies of volume C: were aborted because the shadow copy storage could not grow due to a user imposed limit. I have been seeing this message in error logs for ever. C: drive is 50GB partition with 46% free space. I am not aware of imposing any limit. Can you help?

Your C: win7, need be not less than 100g.

Sounds a bit strange, it is suppose to delete older ones when it runs out of space.

Check it and see what its set at.

Click start > right click computer > Properties > Advanced system settings > in the System Protection tab click your drive > configure.

The slide controls the size of space that it can use, too small and it won't be able to save even one.

Theog I tried extending the C: partition and PC crashed. Dave have increased setting from 1.3 to 10Gb - hopefully that will fix it. Thanks for your input both of you.

It looks like this warning is related to Windows Event logs, so you'd better contact MS Support.

Acronis yes that was the same problem. Space now at 10GB (20%).
