HDD problem error

I have a problem with one of my HD as you will see the windows error in the image.

Did a chkdsk command nothing found.

The problem only happend when i tried to copy 190GB over to it.

My Tower only has two bays for HD but I added a 3rd.

Any ideas on this problem?

It looks like your hard drive may be going bad. How old is it?

I suggest you run a hard drive diagnostic to test the drive. It looks like you have a Western Digital Blue 320GB so you can use the Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows Tool. There's also a DOS version as well on that page that may be more extensive.

I'd also suggest backing up the data on that hard drive asap in case it is failing.

Run that test and let us know the results.

Ya I have run tests frim bios also but no luck. There is nothing on the HD lol. I'm only after putting it in. When I went and tried to copy data on it that's when this happened

So this hard drive is the new one that you recently installed? Try re-seating all the cables, SATA and power on both ends. If that doesn't work then try using different cables. Maybe swap with one of the other hard drives that you know works.

There's not much else you can do to diagnose hard drives like this, so the next best solution is to contact WD (considering the HDD is still under warranty) or the company you bought it from.

Nah it's not the newest harddrive I got it in work out of a pc and formatted it. Try different cables and so on. But even on the post on start-up Saying hard change please config BIOS. Maybe it's just this MOBO can't handle 3 HD

If your motherboard has the ports it can handle that many hard drives. Although the PSU may be of question, I don't think that's of concern here. Again I suggest contacting the manufacturer to see if it's still under warranty for replacement.

Ok a update on the problem. This message appears at boot up- NOTICE - Hard Drive Self monitoring system has reported that a parameter has exceeded its normal operating range.

Any ideas?
