Hi
My HGST 1 Terabyte HDD stopped working and converted itself to Dynamic/Invalid status
I converted it to basic again but all my +800 GB files is missing, so I installed Minitool PDR Technician edition to recover it, I chose lost partition recovery it scanned the drive. The scan is completed now and its showing all the files in the search results, but when I choose to save them it saves only empty folders and some of files. ANY SUGGESTION? And what should I select to recover, #1 or #2?

Thanks in advance:)

Hello and welcoem mohammadzk now this might or not work for you it is a little ditty of mine to eover data give it a try I just cannot promise you anything but i have sued itmany times over the years
BOOTABLE UBUNTU
Make a bootable Ubuntu disk https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop
Set the BIOS to boot from the optical when the machine boots it will show you a screen with TRY or INSTALL > select TRY not INSTALL
When it is finished - it takes very little time you will get a screen like in the pic .
Open the drive you want > User and dig down until you get to the data / settings you may be able to copy / paste the material you want to an external source or other installed drive doing this.
I am not sure if it will but I have recovered tons of data etc using this method both on "dead" or just plain drives that you cannot get data from using Windows.

Or there is this Emergency Kit - save your files from a dead OS I prefer Ubuntu a tad easier to set up but this does the same thing

Ok mate now try my method the choice is yours of course because I am not a fan of those add on programs like the one you used. Using Ubuntu or Mint swill allow you access to just about all of the data some files cannot be opened because you are running in a non Windows environment but at least you will get docs and pics etc.

Run the trial version of Getdataback Simple https://www.runtime.org/data-recovery-software.htm and scan your drive. Does it show all your partitions and folders/files in it?( You can also preview the files and check their integrity). If it does, then there is hope - though not absolute - that those can be retrieved by using the freeware TestDisk (File System Utilities). In case TestDisk fails, you may have to get back to rely on one of these Commercial software 1. active @ file recovery 2. Zero Assumption Recovery 3. Getdataback Simple.
