Hi everybody,
I saw some threads on this topic but none helped me so far, therefore here's my problem:
I have two internal SATA HDD: WD 3 TB (5.400 RPM) and Seagate Barracuda 500GB (7.200 RPM). During the file transfer the speed drops dramatically, to 600 Kb/sec.
You can see the HDD specifications and status in the pictures below.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
Cristian

@Megahertz07: Thanks for the tip. The speed is going down on large files. About testing with Crystal:

Is this meaning something to you?
Thanks in advance :)

Your profile doesn't mention your motherboard but as its a i3-2100 I can figure out it's a 5 years old.
Older MB used to have only 2 SATA 3 (600) and the other SATA 2 (300) so C: drive should be on SATA 0 and the other HDD on SATA 1.

I was expecting that the WD (E:) would be slower as it is a 5400 RPM. And the results are normal.
The Segate (C:) is slow despite it is a 7200RPM.
Defrag the disk and schedule a check disk. (On a CMD window type chkdsk c: /f)

I recommend that you install a SSD. You have no idea what it can do for your computer.
It doesn't need to be big. I have a 120G SSD with win 7 and Linux and still a lot of space. The trick is to move \Users to the HDD. If you buy a SSD let me know so I can guide you on the move of \Users.
I have a a PNY. Very fast and cheap. - US$50 PNY CS1311 2.5" 120GB SATA III TLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSD7CS1311-120-RB-Newegg.com

You are absolutely right! I'll put the SSD on my priority list. Anyhow, the fragmentation of C is 2% and for E is 0%. I'll keep you posted on the results of chkdsk.
Thanks a lot! Best regards!
