Hi everyone. I have the hdmi cable attached to PC then to the LCD Vizio TV. When I place the PC into extended mode, I can watch Media Center with the hdmi audio on the tv. Unfortunately, when I watch media center on the monitor(single display mode), I receive an error message stating that there is no audio device installed. I do not understand what I did wrong.
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. deanie44:confused:

If you use the HDMI audio and then want to use the regular PC's speakers for audio you must manually select the PC's speakers in the Sound panel. It doesn't automatically switch between the HDMI audio and the PC speaker audio in your Dell.

I have the same issue with my PC and an ATI Radeon HD4850 Video card. If I want to use the HDMI interface and the HDMI audio, I must select that as the default playback device in the Sound Panel. If I want to use the PC's speakers then I have to manually select the PC's Speakers (sound card) as the default playback device.
