HDMI audio

I just recently upgraded from vista to windows 7. When i had vista i had no trouble with the audio playing from my laptop through my tv, but i upgraded to windows 7 and can't get it to work. The video works great but there is no audio. I set my playback device to SPDIF, updated chipset, video, and all the drivers i could think of, but it still does not work. Any suggestions.

have you install codecs pack and what type of video file that have no sound

Good call because I forgot to do that, but unfortunately it did not solve the problem. The weird thing is after playing with the sound is I no longer get can get any sound from my laptop speakers when I have that as the default. Any other ideas?

could you explain more on that, i mean what's the thing that you set as default?

Actually I've gotten the speakers to work again, so its back to the original problem of no sound going through the hdmi cable to the tv. Any ideas?

Do you have an HDMI output on your video card or is it just a DVI connector? If you have HDMI output
Usually then you have to change some settings so that the computer outputs sound over HDMI instead of your sound card.
