HDMI cable allows only video transfer or audio and video?

If your gfx card allows it the hdmi cable will carry the audio too. HDMI cables are design for both video and audio signals.

i have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5400.
do this design for both video and audio signals?

As previous post, HDMI can carry both audio and video - suggest you try it out and if sound is missing it will not be due to the cable.
