I am looking for device similar to this :

Wireless USB to HDMI Converter with Audio Kit

I seek a device just like this but with 1080p video and 5.1 or better audio out. Unless I am mistaken it is my belief that hdmi supports surround audio, yes?

Update : oops - I have a tv output digital audio optical cable to the surround system. I hope this means that I will not need the 'audio' requirement stated above?

do you have a dvi port or vga port on your computer you just use the digital optical cable on the computer to the surround sound device for the sound quality

The VGA connects to the monitor. The optical cable is from the tv.

ok what about getting something like these 2 products there vga to hdmi adapters with 1080p and sound aswell.

The VGA suggestions do not appear to be wireless and I could not confirm that they will handle the 5.1 or better audio.

it all depends on how much you are willing to spend on an adapter that's why I suggested a cheap option rather than a $300 option..... but understand totally

I may be guilty of not being clear as to my request. My computer does not have hdmi output. It is my understanding that the hdmi interface permits the transfer of 1080p video and 5.1 (or better) audio. I am looking for a PC to TV wireless transfer of this data. I seek h/w that can accomplish this task, if such devices exist. Perhaps my understanding of the OP and subsequent suggested links is flawed.
