This is probably a completely stupid question, and I feel retarded for even asking, because it should be fairly obvious, but I'm still going to ask.

My laptop has HDMI - out. Is there any way that I can use that as HDMI-in. The reason I ask is that I'd like to be able to plug my PS3 into my laptop, which I'm sure isn't even possible. I just thought I'd ask.

You're right, it's not possible. Only way to do that is if the video card is VIVO (video in - video out) capable, has a a built in TV tuner (something like the ATI All-In-Wonder cards), or a separate TV tuner installed.
