I have my laptop connected to my TV via HDMI. The video works but the sound plays through the laptop speakers. This sound worked yesterday and for the last year or so but for some reason it stopped working today. When I go into my playback devices I only have two listed (Speakers and Headphones, Independent Headphones) and no more devices pop up when I right-click and check "show disabled devices." The only thing that I can think of that may have changed any settings is that I downloaded an AC3 codec. I have since uninstalled it. I have also tried a system restore to no avail. Does anyone know anything else that I could try to correct this issue?

Thanks

Reinstall the Video drivers, as a first step. The video drivers also include HDMI audio drivers.
