Hi guys,

When I release my HDMI cable that is attached to my laptop from the TV, the audio output still says that the HDMI is plugged in. The only way to get around this issue that I know so far, is to restart the machine. Is there another way to stop this from happening? its a real pain to reboot every time I wanna take out the HDMI cable. Please Advice.

Thanks.

not sure if this will work or not but goto ( Control Panel \ sound) . then click on the sound you want to use.

On occasion I'll use my HDTV as a monitor or to watch movies via HDMI cable.

If I want the sound to come from the TV I need to enable it (or disable speakers/headphone, it's finicky) by right clicking on it in the sound devices dialogue box. Once done, I need to right click on the TV in the sound devices dialogue box and disable it.

Either before or after, I don't see the difference, I'll disable the HDTV (or extend the display) in the display, screen resolution dialogue box
