Hello all,

I have an issue for which need suggestion from all

I have a laptop which has HDMI port & sony television which does not have HDMI port
It has only VGA port
1) Can i connect my laptop & tv
2) Will i be able to hear audio & see video on laptop ( Which is running on tv)

Also I need a general instructions audio about speaker connectors & headphones
Eg: line in, line out etc as i'm not clear about these things

Kindly guide me.Thanks

You'll need some sort of converter box - HDMI is a digital video signal and VGA is an analog graphics signal; basically, they're speaking different languages and also using different alphabets to do so.

Monoprice.com has many converters that may be of help to you. Check out what's available.

As far as the audio goes, HDMI can transmit audio along with the video, but VGA cannot. You would need a box that has an HDMI input that breaks out to a VGA output and whatever type of audio connection that works for your monitor/television (probably a 1/8" mini jack, or maybe even RCA connectors).
