Well i hooked my laptop (acer 7720) up to my 32" LCD tv and its forcing me to use a really low res (1024x768) when i know it supports a higher res because i had it hooked up to my old desktop and it displayed 1920x1080 using win xp. I cant change the aspect ratio in the control panel it literally will not let my change to flat panel aspect it automatically goes back to letting the tv decide. I can't even give you the proper terms because the driver im using (185.85) some how didnt install nvidia control panel i haft to switch back to the prerelease driver for that.

I can not go any higher then 1024x768 or the moniter will start spazzing out. I don't know whats going on i can usually solve problems like this on my own but i am so frickin stumped right now and it's frustrating. I'm a gamer and that res just makes me  so please help and if you can't thanks for trying.

Does your HDTV have a widescreen function were you can change the resolution from Full to Dot to Dot. if yes then change it to Dot to Dot. This worked for me.
If you are having driver up date problems you need to uninstall the driver you have then install the updated nvidia driver as the old driver wont let you install over the top, at least thats what i had to do.
Hope this helps.
