Does the speakers work OK? If they do, plug the headset into the GREEN speaker jack on the back, to make sure the headphones are still working.
If neither work, check the PC vendor for drivers and reinstall them. The PC vendor's drivers are preferred as non-Vendor drivers may not work or may not work properly.
