Anyone have some suggestions for me on a good gaming headset?
90% of the time I will be using it on PC, but I do play my xbox one every now and then and so would like for it to be compatible with that as well. Also, I don't want to spend more than $200.

Thanks in advanced! :)

Well, I stated in my earlier post that I have a budget of $200. I'm looking for something of high quality that will last a while, something tells me $15 probably wouldn't cut it.

I use a Sony MDR-V150

Love em !!!!

I wore out my V300 set.

Those aren't specifically marketed for gaming, im assuming they have a microphone as part of the package? Why did you choose to go for headphones over a gaming headset?

I've been reading online and found this Best Gaming Headset 2015 | Immersive Online Gaming. I've been leaning towards the sennheiser g4me one, which is exactly in my price range and seems to get good reviews everywhere I've looked (they're also compatible with both the pc and xbox one).

Would I be better off just going for regular headphones, or does it not really matter in the end as long as I end up with something good?

Okay clue me in folks.

Other than the word (Gaming) what is the difference between a $200.00 gaming and a $200.00 non gaming head set.

Gaming headset's are well meant for gaming. Most of them have a mic attached with it and it has surround sound so when you play lets say call of duty you can hear exacly were are thw foot steps are at. Also they desine it so that you can use it all day without numming your ears.It also have sound canceling so you can pay more attention to the game.(sorry for my grammar i speack more spanish then english)

I have seen headphones from $25.00 to almost #1000.00.

How does a head phone know what you are listing to. A game or rap music ect. Does just putting the name (Gamer) on the label improve the the quality of the sound of the headphones for gaming or will any hight quality headphone do the same job?

A headset doesn't know what it's listening to, but the people who make them do. Gaming headsets are usually lesser in terms of audio, but they are made to hear the game sounds, little nuances like footfalls in a game like Call Of Duty. Now a normal headset, meant for music, is going to have a deeper, richer audio, to make the music sound good, along with the fact that they don't have a microphone. So there is quite a difference.
