Hello from Windows 7

Hi all,

Just signed in and posting from my new install of Windows 7.

Still have things to set up but had to come in and say I've very happy, even though I had to wait until about the middle of the afternoon for my copy to arrive via City Link and was only able to start the install at about 8pm so far things are going great.

I did notice that there are about 7488 logged in now, things are really buzzing on here.
Well done John and staff it just goes to show what a great site this is for all things Windows 7.
Haven't got Office installed yet so hope my spelling holds up until I've got spell checking facilities set up.

I was so lazy I just entered the key from my Newegg upgrade thet juat arrived and activated my current install from the RTM image .

Hi from my new 64-bit install (previously had 32 bit)!!
I've only just noticed one thing though, there is no ballot screen... I've not heard any news on it, any ideas?

I'm guessing the pre orders didnt get the ballot screen :huh:

I have just done a fresh install and what I love about this so far is 20 mins to install 15mins for updates and only a couple of hours for my 3rd party stuff as the OS does most of what I need already

the ballot screen palaver was thankfully sorted out a month or two ago. what's next - microsoft can't bundle a file browser with their new os? :sarc:

and yes, ickmay (micky?) it's great isn't it - the first thing i did when i got my discs on wednesday was to copy the 64bit disc over onto a 4 gig usb stick - very quick install for such a great os.

I am still wavering on getting a pro or ultimate install though, the tweaker in me feels stifled
