Hello limneos.


I'm in the process of moving to my new system and I want to remove the boot entries for Windows 7 and XP Pro from the boot menu on this machine; all I want to leave on this machine is Vista.

I have already removed the boot entries for Win 7 using msconfig and XP using EasyBCD and formatted the partitions these two were on, now the boot entries are still there; if you have time, will you please list the commands I must run to remove these two from the boot menu.

Hi Ted,

Open an elevated command prompt and type :

bcdedit /delete {your-win7-identifier} <enter>

bcdedit /delete {your-xp-identifier} <enter>


If you wanted to delete one of the popular ID , like {default} you need to add the /f switch to force it, e.g.

bcdedit /delete {default} /f
