I tried 3 times to install from the 64 bit disk (full version arrived from Amazon on time...) and each time it seemed to go well but froze at "Welcome" screen. I waited more than an hour each time, to no avail. The system would not respond to anything except power off. Each time the restart dumped me back into the install process.
I tried the 32 bit disk. Worked first time. Clean as a whistle.
Now I don't know whether to stick with the 32 bit install but would be keen to get 64 bit working if poss...
The MSFT advisory didn't flag any issues with W7 for me.
