Hello,in this this hard drive I have Windows 7 installed(had it and before) and on the other hdd I have Ubuntu 10.10. Before that I have dual boot with those 2 os's.
Now after I formated my hdd with Win7 and installed again Windows, grub loader has been deleted. Was searching on the internet and found EasyBCD as program that can help me. Downloaded and install it to pc,and now I want somebody to advice me about it how can I get back Ubuntu 10.10 in OS selection menu on starting up computer. On that hdd I have a plenty of files(maybe 150GB of files from my previous Windows 7)and I want them back. :)
I tryed to copy them using Ext2Explore ,but program is crashing after something start to copy/move/delete...
So If anyone can help me,I'll be thankfull. :)
Thanks,Boshko.

Sorry :o - Do you want Ubuntu to show up on the Windows Bootloader? Or do you want to get rid of the Grub Bootloader because you can't boot into Windows?

Many Thanks,
Josh

   Note
gregrocker's Updated Link contains the Information below

Okay I usually Install Unbuntu INSIDE of windows - Insert the Live Disk and start the Program - Wubi.exe (Something like that)

Then Select Install Inside of Windows

It will then Ask for details to set up a User account

After that it will transfer the Files and you will be Prompted to Restart your Computer - Do so and then Ubuntu will be added to the WINDOWS BOOT LOADER It will then Complete the Installation and Do a First Boot ;)

   Information
Ubuntu will be seen as a Program inside of Windows and can be removed via a Normal Program in Control Panel

Please Note that you cannot access the Files from the Windows Installation or Vice versa you will need to use an Externa HDD

This is the Way on Installation for Adding UBunut on the Windows Boot Loader if you follow other ways you will have the Grub Bootloader (Personally I do not like it)

Hope This Helps,
Josh

I don't want to install Ubuntu again. Because as I said I have a lot of files on that hdd where is Ubuntu. If I install again Ubuntu, all the data will be lost in that hdd.

This explains how to add Ubuntu using EasyBCD:

Even before the advent of WUBI I used to run my Linux installs using the Windows Bootloader

All you need to do here is when installing Linux ensure that you use the advanced options and load grub to the Actual Linux Partition, rather than the active partition, and use EasyBCD to add the grub loader to the Windows Bootloader.

As my primary Operating System will always be Windows this enabled me to keep control of the bootloader.

I often run multiple windows operating systems on one PC so this method this makes things a lot more controlled

This might also work if the above doesn't: http://www.ubuntu-inside.me/2009/06/howto-recover-grub2-after-windows.html

Bear in mind with separate HD's you don't need to use GRUB or any bootloader as you can boot one via the BIOS Boot Order and the other using the one-time BIOS Boot Menu key.

WHat I would do if no one here can help you start Ubuntu up again on its own is ask in an Ubuntu forum. Unplug your Win7 HD and get Ubuntu running. Then plug back in your Win7 HD, set the preferred OS/HD to boot first in BIOS setup, then boot the other using one-time BIOS Boot Menu key given on your first boot screen.

Can you explain exactly how you were able to Dual Boot Win7 with Ubuntu using EasyBCD? Was it using Barman's method above?

Using this guide from NeoSmart Technologies.
Ubuntu - NeoSmart Technologies Wiki

I just go to EasyBCD,Add Entry, select "Linux, than GRUB2 and Add.
After rebooting it was working as before.
