Hey bear foot. ok so i am trying to activate windows and i get this error when trying to activate it online

what now?

The Following Failure occured while trying to use the product key:

0xc004f061

Description:
The software licensing service determined that the specified product key can only be used for upgrading, not for clean installations

i called microsoft last night and i was able to get tech support on the line and they helped me activate it with no problems. my version is genuine
