The problem I am having occurs when I try to view the properties of an mp3 file to edit them. The mp3 begins playing automatically in a tab called _songtitle_.mp3, which sucks enough. However, when I close the properties window, the mp3 keeps playing and there is no way to stop it short of stopping and rebooting windows explorer.

What on earth is going on? It's running the mp3 in explorer rather than one of the programs I've downloaded and doing so automatically?!

Welcome to SF!

Try uninstalling the program you installed for mp3s. I suspect a program added the ability to listen to mp3s in explorer.
