Solved Help! Bsod!!

Every once in a while, when I am on Internet Explorer, my Windows 7 Laptop screen will flash, and then it blue screens. When I boot it back up, it works fine.

This is the error that I get when it blue screens: (Blue Screen Bug Check 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR)

Can someone help me here, and tell me what I need to do to fix this? I don't think it's a big problem, but I am afraid if I let it go, it will get worse.

Have you got any yellow triangles in the Device Manager against Display devices?

Mate some system specs would be good to help you track down the drivers and such too

Now you can of course check for the driver with Windows bit it is not a feature that I find terribly good - better off going to the manufacturers site for hardware drivers.

No, I have don't recall seeing any yellow triangles.

Which is the only one Acer has to offer, there are no updated ones from them.

So let's try this,

1. Go to Device Manager and expand Display Adapters.

2. Right click on your adapter and choose properties.

3. Select the Driver tab and choose uninstall.

4. When finished, reboot the computer and let Windows install the available WHQL driver.

I would also suggest getting some compressed air and cleaning out all the vents on you laptop, overheating from dust buildup could be a big problem and might be related to this problem.

Side Note:

From your system specs you filled in you list AVG and Microsoft Security Essentials.

It's not a good idea to have two AV programs installed, personally I would get rid of AVG.

When I clicked uninstall, the screen was enlarged. Also, now it's back on and it says it's installing the Video Controller (VGA Compatible) software. It says it's searching windows update. Will my screen go back to normal?
