help connecting to wireless network!

I got a new computer today with Windows 7 and I am having trouble connecting to a wireless network. I have an unsecured connection and it is telling me that it cannot connect to the network and to check the router. I know the router is working because I am on the same network with another computer. I can connect to a secured network at a friends house just fine so I don't understand what the problem is. I am not very good with computers so any help at all would be appreciated! thanks!

Can you post your Network Connections details? Maybe there is something wrong with your wireless card.

Any errors in system Eventlogs?
