I have an external hard drive that was named Local Disk (I), now out of the blue it is named Local Disk (K), I tried to rename it back to I but it won't allow me to do it.
I have no idea how it happened or when it happened, but when I use my Adobe Lightroom it has been storing my images in the I drive but now is storing the catalog data in the K, any software that was referencing the "I" drive is now telling me it cannot find the files because now it is "K" drive.
Is there a way to change the drive name back to Local Disk (I) ?
or does anyone in here that uses Lightroom know how to redirect where it looks for the photos?

It wasn't renamed; the drive letter was changed. At some point another removable media device was installed and used drive letter I, and now your external drive is using K. It is easy to change drive letters - just use drive management.

Change, add, or remove a drive letter

Thank you very much, that did the trick, the other day I disconnected my external hard drive and later I connected my cell phone to do an OS upgrade to the Samsung Keis, it must have named the phone "I" and then when I plugged the hard drive it automatically named it "K"
I am sure glad for this information, heck I even learned something
