I neded an XP partition on my 500GB drive in my 6 month old Dell Inspiron 620MT desktop with Windows 7 Pro x64.

I created a 10GB partition and then installed XP Pro in that partiton without a problem, using this page as a guide: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/8057-dual-boot-installation-windows-7-xp.html

Everything seemd to go fine except when I went to restart the PC it did not show a "Choose Your OS" screen but went directly into XP.

Now all I can get is XP and not the original WIN7.
Anyone know how to get the Dual-boot to work with the XP as it's the only one working.

Even better I would like to remove the XP partition as I found out (too late) that Dell does not support XP on this machine and can't get any drivers. And of course revert back to Win7.

I can't even install the LAN card and get on the net. Have to use an old iMac (yech!) to type this.

Please help.

Mark Active WIn7 partition or it's 100mb System Reserved partition (preferred if you have it): Partition - Mark as Active

Then boot into Win7 DVD System Recovery Options or System Repair Disk to run Startup Repair up to 3 separate times with reboots until Win7 boots and the correct partition now holds the System Active flags.

You can then delete XP in Disk Management.

Did you try googing the exact name of the LAN device + XP driver, or any other Device's missing driver? I'm usually able to find almost any device's driver with enough searching. Others searching the same device(s) usually leave a trail.

gregrocker: this worked and much appreciated
Will try to locate drivers now.
