Help EMERGENCY With MY COMPUTER!

i was installing windows 7 on my computer and i see a cable unplugged inside my computer so i find a spot and my computer turns off and i see a flash of electricity, is my computer now dead it wont turn on and if you know please tell me

It's quite possible you blew out something.

You should never make any hardware changes while the system is running or plugged in.

Let me get this straight....while the computer was on - you connected a random cable into to what you thought looked like an appropriate socket? And the computer shut down and you saw a electrical arc flash? Is this correct?

My only suggestion is to unplug the power cable from the wall, disconnect whatever you plugged in and turn it back on and see if it works.

If it does not, I'm afraid your best bet will be to take it to a computer repair shop as you have likely either blown the power supply or the motherboard.

it works now, but i didnt do the same steps as you but thanks though

Make sure everything is working properly - fans, HDD, CD/DVD, video and sound, if so then you got very lucky my friend!!!
