Hey everyone, Not great with computer but use it for work!

I have read through some of the topics online including this forum regarding this issue, and tried the steps.

When I was following the steps that included using the command option my computer was reading 0 KB during the poster claimed if this was the case then try a different method....no method was given...

However this computer is used and was given to me recently since my laptop fried out...anyways when starting it on the home page it would say activate windows but there was also a " later " option that I always clicked ( was told too ).

After about 3 days it would say " windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause....File WDFLDR.SYS Status: 0xc00000098 Info: Windows failed to load because a required file corrupt...

I was told by the local tech it was a windows issue...he asked for $80 to fix it....I paid him and it worked for 2 days now I have this issue. After my research I assumed he only downloaded a fake windows 10 ( should have known )

Then I went to the local computer store bought windows 10....try to install it said something about take out the USB and restart...I did this...same old issue with automatic repair loop came up....

so i decided to hit reset computer which would delete everything....halfway through the process it just said error...didn't say what and couldn't resume...

Went back to the computer store they said it might be hard drive issue and now my new windows 10 purchase is gone....

can anyone help or am I out of chances here?

Hi JNH,
for starters could you perform a hard shutdown >> unplug it when its in the loop.

When you switch it back on it should give either the repair option, or start normally
Select normal
What happens next??, does it work, what OS does it show w7/w10/Vista?
on the side of the comp what does the sticker say Vista OEM home premium!
