Don't buy inkjet printers, though they are cheap but cartridges got expiry dates and if one cartridge expires you won't be able to use printer till you replace it. I will recommend to get laser printer, which is far better than inkjets. Little expensive compare to inkjets but one laser cartridge gives you atleast 2000 copies.

Hope this helps

Get a cheap black and white laser printer, not an inkjet.

Good brands are Brother and Samsung. You should be able to find one for no more than 100 US dollars, sometimes cheaper when on sale.

Printers are cheap, it's the supplies that will cost you. Some just about give away their printers and make up for it by selling the cartridges.
I would not buy any laser printer where the cartridges are not available in most of the big stores like staples and office depot.
some printers come with really small cartridges and only print less than 1000 pages before you have to buy a new cartridge.

I have been using the cheap HP laserjets and been satisfied as everyone carries spare cartridges.

That printer is a ink cartridge printer.
One thing to check on any printer you buy is to make sure that the printer
has drivers for your operating system.

Most inkjet printers won't automatically print on both sides of a sheet of paper.
If you want Duplex printing, then a LaserJet type of printer that specifies D on
the model number has the option to print on both sides of a sheet of paper.

Otherwise it is print one side and then turn it over and manually feed it back in.

I use a Kodak printer/scanner and like it a lot. You can buy them at Kmart and the ink too. Ink is cheep and it seams like it uses less.

A pair of cartridges cost as much as the printer did and there are no cheaper generic cartridges! I wondered how they could make such a capable printer so cheaply - they get you on the cartridges.
If you go injet make sure you can get cheap generic cartridges even if you pay more for the printer.

For cheap black & white you can't beat a low cost laser.

the reason i suggested that as it is an old printer, and not a modern expensive printer. i.,e. somethin affordable
