Help. Games don't work.

My laptop is just new. It has a windows 7 home premium 32bit OS. I installed some games like avenue flo and diner dash games but when I click PLAY, it displays an error message that says, "a problem caused the program to stop working correctly...." I searched google for same problems and they said it is in the compatibilty settings. but when I try to run the compatibility settings the same thing happens. can anyone help me? thanks.

Right click the game icon and select properties > Compatibility and you should see a dialog box similar to the one I made a snip of below.

When you tried compatibility settings did you try, A: Change settings for all users B: Run this program in compatibility mode for (XP, Vista, Windows 7) C: Run as Administrator and you may have to try some other settings too like run in 640 x 480 resolution.

If the games were released prior to 2007 they would require XP service pack 2 compatibility but still may not work after trying all available settings.
