HDD crash

hey guys,
I just plugged an old 20gb hard drive in wouldnt let me access all the files due to not having the right privileges even though my account is the admin account any way went to change the owner of the drive to my account ( ive done this to many times ). now it started doing that and then all of a sudden something went wrong it got most of the way through it and then something poped up about if i have just changed ownership i had to re open the drive. now heres the problem after i clicked ok the drive was gone ( by gone i mean not accessible still shows up in explorer ) when i right click it in properties it says 0byes of 0 bytes use and 0 bytes of 0 bytes free now when i open comp management and go to drive management when i right click and go to properties it says the same as it did before i tryed to change ownership all the used and free space is correct.
what the hell happened is it just a corrupt ntfs partition and is it easily fixed as ive got a hell of alot of important data on there that i cant loose have an assignment due tomorrow and half the stuff i need for it is on that drive :s lol great timing huh. any way heres some screen shots to help out. cheers guys in advance for your help just to let you know im rather advanced when it comes to comps ive just never had this happen before and really dont want to loose this data soo yeah just want to see what you guys think it could be before i go messing with stuff and loosing it for good thanks again guys

Since im no fan of windows built in disk management, I would suggest a 3rd party app like paragon disk suite 2009. they have a free trial you could download and use to fix the problem

good luck

Ken

Ouch. you are admin in win 7. If drive was in a diff OS, you aren't admin on the drive now.

Ken

Edit: congrats on fixing it. I was just being exceptionally cautious just in case.
