All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
Force the computer to boot from the dvd, and have XP format the drive for you. If you need help let us know

It sounds like you are trying to load xp from within windows 7. You can't do this.

You need to put your cd in.

Restart your computer and tap the boot menu key ( some machines are F12 some are F9, it varies. ) and select boot from cd. Or you can go in the BIOS and change the boot order.

Once it boots, from the cd , you will need to "press any key' to continue.

Then you just follow the instructions.

Hope this helps. If I missed something or you are unsure about something please don't hesitate to post back :)

it doesn't say any thing man

a blue screen that doesn't say anything? I have never seen that. There is usually an error of some sort. And often times that error will help troubleshoot the issue.

What is the error on the bluescreen. That's what we need to know..

You can get a formatting tool from Ultimate Boot CD or something...

Download Darik's Boot and Nuke from SourceForge.net

You can download the zip file and burn the ISO and run the software..

You should try Gparted to format the HD, then install XP from scratch: GParted -- Welcome

Well I also have the W764bit RTM installed, and was trying to install XP64bit as either dual boot or Fresh, well when i load from the cd, it loads up like its suppose to, but when I click Enter to setup XP, I get an error which says:

"Setup did not find any Hard disk drives installed in your computer."

It then goes on with more telling me to make sure the drives are powered on, and connected properly, well its a laptop, and then when I cancel, it easily boots to W7...

I have the HD set in 2 partitions, and I have tried many different ways to see if the XP setup could read any of the Partitions, with no luck, any Guidance would be appreciated...
