are you trying to install off a flash drive?
are you making the drive bootable first ?
do you have the drive to boot first in your bios ?

Did you wipe the HD of GRUB as suggested? I would also wipe the flash stick to clean its boot sector. Then use the Universal USB tool to write a confirmed good ISO to stick.

Hi mate i think gregrocker may have apoint about the linux partition. You will have to wipe that partition because windows doesnt like linux partitions.

The GRUB bootloader can corrupt the boot sector requiring the DISKPART Clean command to wipe it.

But the problem is likely the stick not being formatted correctly. Use the tool I linked which has been suggested for over a year now here to hundreds without a single complaint. If the stick then won't boot, does it show up in BIOS Boot order menu or the one-time BIOS boot menu key? What happens exactly when it boots then?
