somone expert please help! my asus silent 520 GT card doesn't run any new 11/12 games, keeps giving error upon launch of the following:

''failed creating D3D device of at least version10.0 on adapter ''NVIDIA GeForce GT 520'' with driver ''30124''. Error is DXGI_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED. This is typically caused by not having the minimum required DirectX support in the GPU.''

Now my card gt520 supports direct X 11 & OpenGL, and i'm running windows 7 ultimate 64 bit (which should include direct x 11. The lastest tested driver is 301 (a beta) and I'v also tried with the older driver that came with the card and another WHQL certified driver; that's 3 drivers all of them produced same error. I'v updated to directx x 11 like 6 times none of which helped. So what's going on?? anyone with any ideas please help, as I'm keen to start gaming and throw out this doggy graphics card if it's not fixable. thnx in advance

From what I can tell from googling this problem, it's not the DX11 software on your computer that's the problem, it's the DirectX hardware support on the GPU that is lacking...

The is a common response to people reporting this problem...

Typically caused by not having the minimum directx support in the GPU. For NVIDIA GPU's. DirectX10.0 support is required.

I know the card advertises that it does have full DX11 support.

The 520 GT is a very low end card. With all due respect, if you want to play current games I'd suggest upgrading to a more capable card, perhaps a 560 for under $200

Thank you very much, your right. I just wasn't sure what's the problem but it makes sence what your saying. I bought this card as a brigde card when assembling my computer, like a temp graphics card t'll I could afford a better one, also I like to have backup cards for emergencies. But I expected it to be able to run new games on low resolutions because of it's so called direct x 11 support, which as you made clear really isn't there. Now I know what's the problem and I can dismiss the card for playing new games, that's exactly what I wanted, a clerification. Thanks for your time tanyaC

Did you install the DirectX9 package?

Yes I tried that also, but it just says a newer version is already installed.

So I concider this thread solved, should I somehow remove the thread and how do I do that?
Or do I just leave it for others to learn from this experience?
