help needed re:auto-ejecting a thumb drive

I run W7 Home Premium. I have a Corsair thumb drive on which I've loaded PStart and a bunch of portable apps. Does anyone know if there's a way to auto-eject this drive upon exiting PStart? (software, regdit, etc.?)

The PortableApps.com Suite (my preference) has an exit/eject button all in one. I'd assume the others would incorporate the same feature.

That functionality needs to be programmed into the software. I am not sure it is done in PStart.

AS stated, PortableApps.com Suite does have that function I believe.
But, I do actually like PStart better in many ways.

But mostly, I don't even use a menu system for my All-in-One Toolbox Thumb drive. I have way too many apps on it that a Menu actually is more cumbersome to use.

Thanks for all the helpful responses. If I may ask, Tepid, given all the apps on your All-In_One Toolbox, how do you organize and/or keep them straight on your Toolbox?

Given all the portable apps I'd like to set up on my Corsair, I could use some help organizing before-hand, rather than trying to straighten things out after the fact.

Yeah,, that's a trial and error thing.

Basically, I have Production stuff in a folder called Production (OpenOffice, Firefox, things like that)
In system I have things like uninstallers folder with all my uninstallers
I just try to categorize them by what they do.

System Info tools go in SysInfo, etc.
File type tools go under File

You will need to kind of figure out what works best for you.

When using something like PStart, I forget my file structure and have to spend time searching for stuff when updating my software.

If PortableApps Suite works out well with the auto updating,, it could be a nice thing to have, but I will wait to 2.0 gold is released and test it out. I don't think it will work for all software I ahve,, not everything on my stick is from portableapps,,, many just run as is.

Your response makes sense, and helps me. Before I dive in and install many more on my thumb-drive, I'll figure out how I want to organize things. Better to have a target and then shoot, rather than shooting and then drawing a circle around where I hit things.

When I first started making my TechStick, that is what I did, just started hunting for apps and then they were all over the place. Started playing with PStart, which I do Like, but started becoming cumbersome when trying to update and organize, so I spent time organizing and stopped using PStart.

Here is a little trick through for PStart that is useful.

Placing Firefox Portable on the stick somewhere (Production is where have mine)
Then,,, open PStart
Right Click and Add A File
Find FirefoxPortable.exe and add it
Now Application / file path will look like this....

Productivity\FirefoxPortable\FirefoxPortable.exe

In the command line parameters
put this ,,,, for external links....

"http://www.bing.com"

For internal links...

"%pdrive%\Tech Stick\Documents\Favorits\Debug Hard Drive.html"

Now when you double click the link in PStart, it will open the web page in FF automagically. Which does come in handy.
