Help needed

Windows Live Messenger is launched automatically each time I start my new laptop with Windows 7. How can get rid of this (except uninstall Live Messenger completely...) ?

Go to Options --> Sign In --> Uncheck "Run messenger when I log onto Windows"

You can also Hit the start button and type in the search box: MSCONFIG
Run it.
Click the StartUp tab
Uncheck Windows Messenger
