help on Endless space

Ok the tutorial on this game is text not good.

How do I colonize planets in other systems? I know you got to have the colony ship and research for arid and so on.

Does the blue circle around your home expand to other systems? Your colony ship don't need certain upgrade to colonize does it?

Playing as pilgrims I don't want to invade want to make friends with sophons. Want to colonize w/o bloodshed.

There are tons of tutorial videos on Youtube. It's a bit too complex to explain in a forum post. Here, this should get you started, but expect to be watching for a while. As I said, it's a complicated game and there's a lot to explain.
