help on svchost.exe

Greetings from India.
My colleague has a Dell Laptop 14" with Windows 7 Pro, 64 bit.
For some days now, its gone down very slow and after a check at the Task Manager, found that the Svchost.exe is taking about 120 mb (Private working set). any problem?
system is loaded with office 2011, Mcafee 8.8.
Pls could anyone of u be of any help.

If you open a command prompt windows and type in:-

tasklist /svc /FI "IMAGENAME eq svchost.exe"


This will show you what has started each incidence of svchost.

FWIW:
I have 10 instances of svchost running at present, mostly connected with my audio and Lan. They are currently using 220 mbs so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Get rid of Mcafee and install Microsoft Security Essential.
