Help picking a new CPU (current installed CPU not supported)

I need a new CPU - my existing CPU is not supported by my motherboard ( I have a Asrocket N68-S motherbaord and a AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+)
I am looking to get a AMD Phenom II X2 560 or the 565 CPU - both CPUs specs are almost the same the only difference between them are the 560 runs at 3300 MHz and the 565 runs at 3400 MHz - But the 565 is £35 more expensive

Is it worth paying more for the better spec Frequency - I am not a gamer I only play snooker 09 from time to time

All the dual cores seem to be out of stock....Probably due to the fact a lot have unlockable cores which your board supports.

35 Pounds is a little steep for .100 mhz

The nice people at ASrocket support have advised me to make sure that my CPU is on the supported list
Been having issues with this PC for ages and I upgraded and replaced everything bar the PSU\CPU and motherboard
and I am still getting BSOD. It turns out that my CPU is not supported by my motherboard -CPU takes to much power for the MB to cope with (CPU failed Prime95 stress test and Coretemp CPU cant read the power settings. I think I got a 125w CPU but my MB can only support 95w chip - hence looking for a new CPU as a cheaper option then a new motherboard (memory etc)

Without knowing your budget this might be a nice one AMD Athlon II X2 265 - Scan.co.uk
It's a OEM chip that usually means it has no cooler included....Dual core 3.3 Might could even manage to unlock the extra cores.....This chips family is on the list but this chip is not since the fastest thing listed is a 3.2...Should work as its a 65 watt chip/ at worst it would clock it at 3.2

Budget is under £100. I ant a gamer so I don't need amazing CPU power. I am running at 3GHz now and my PC runs fine
(well apart from the BSOD I keep getting) I think it probs going to be the Phenom II X2 560 or 565 chip, both within my budget but I will keep my options open

Your motherboard uses DDR2 ram....Personally I wouldn't bother upgrading unless I went to a AM3+ board....Those use DDR3 memory
